Bloom Time-Early
Early-season, disease-resistant apple from PRI breeding program; good cold hardiness.
The Williams Pride apple was introduced in 1988 by PRI, a cooperative breeding program involving Purdue, Rutgers, and the University of Illinois.
The apple was selected in 1979 from a group of seedlings created in 1973 as part of an effort to produce scab-resistant varieties. Its complex parentage comes from a cross between two experimental varieties: PRI 1018-101 and NJ50.
