The apple flesh is mostly white tinged yellow. Tender, juicy, crisp, with a sprightly subacid flavor; before fully ripe it is considerably acid. Very good.

Large and oblong to long conic. Skin smooth with a base color of pale yellow with a faint blush on the sunny side. Lenticels are small. The calyx is set in a shallow, narrow basin with a knobbed crown. The stem is long and thick, set in a narrowly deep, often russetted cavity.
Origin: When first noted the tree was already quite old and thought to be a wild seedling from much earlier in Crosswicks, Burlington County, New Jersey in the mid-1700s.
