Fruit medium to large size, roundish mostly, sometimes lopsided to slightly conic shape, greenish yellow base washed in red on sunny side. Crisp, juicy, sweetly tart and sour at the same time. Blooms Early to mid season usually beginning in March. Ripens June-July. May lightly bloom a second time in a season usually when August heat subsides setting fruit even when no other tree is blooming therefore some self fertility. Believed to have originated in Mississippi.
